International Workers’ Day, the festival celebrated by all workers around the world is approaching. On April 29, the All-China Federation of Trade Unions commended the individuals and organizations winning the awards. NHU won the National May Day Labor Award as the only Shaoxing-based enterprise.
This honor is earned by and belongs to all our employees from the lab to the workshop and it recognizes our efforts in the past 34 years – our dedication, our pursuit of innovation-driven development, our spirit of hard-working and craftsmanship, and our contribution to the development of the industry and the society. It will also spur NHU to keep on innovation and lead the high-quality development of the industry.
On the Symposium of Advanced Representatives of Model Workers in Shaoxing right before the commendation, Mr. Hu Baishan, Vice Chairman and President of NHU delivered a speech on behalf of the company.
Focusing on the national strategy, NHU is a dream pursuer that aspires to create better lives. We have always been carrying on the great heritage of honoring labor and delivering through hard work with down-to-earth endeavor in the field of fine chemicals. To meet the needs of national major strategies and green development, we have made breakthroughs in many bottleneck key technologies. Leveraging our quality, healthy, green, and low-carbon products, we have been improving quality of life for all and providing comprehensive solutions in the fields of nutrition and health, personal and home care, transportation, environmental protection, and new energy.
Striving for excellence, NHU is the inheritor of craftsmanship. Craftsman are an important force for industrial development, and craftsmanship is a powerful impetus for innovation and entrepreneurship. Under our “coaching and mentoring culture”, we have continuously improved the talent development mode and cultivated the craftsmanship of striving for excellence with persistence and attention to every detail. We carried out various activities such as competition of work skills and on-the-job trainings, aiming at mobilizing employees to learn and setting up benchmark of craftsman. We also inspired the creativity and vitality of employees through activities like the QC results sharing and the voice of employees. NHU has cultivated 15 provincial and municipal Model Workers and Zhejiang Craftsmen, and has been awarded as the National Exemplary Base of Staff Education and Zhejiang Model Group, making contribution to strengthen the nation through craftsmanship.
NHU has created a fair space for its employees to develop. Guided by the “dedicator-first” incentive model, we have been improving the compensation mechanism to increase employees’ income in a reasonable way. We create value and share benefit with employees with optimized management and incentive mechanisms such as reward for incremental results and ESOP. We have won titles such as National Employer of Model Workers and Enterprise of Harmonious Labor Relation of Zhejiang.
Giving back to the society, NHU is the advocator of common prosperity. For more than 30 years, NHU has actively participated in charity and public welfare campaigns such as fighting against cov-19, disaster and poverty relief, student aid, and community building. We have been one of the biggest tax payers in Shaoxing for many years in a row, with over RMB10.5 billion cumulative tax paid, RMB 8.638 billion dividends paid to shareholders and RMB147 million cumulative donation to the society.
People in NHU have always been aggressive innovators and committed dedicators. We pay tribute to all workers in this special festival.
As a new year unfolds, NHU has begun on a high note, receiving a series of honors that signal a strong start and lay a solid foundation for the year ahead.

On December 12, the forum “Resilience, Symbiosis, Leadership – Release of the Top 100 Chinese Multinational Private Enterprises and the Zhejiang Business Think Tank Dialogue on the 15th Five-Year Plan” was successfully held in Hangzhou. At the event, the Center For Chinese Multinationals (CCM) of Zhejiang University Business School (ZIBS) released the Top 100 Chinese Multinational Private Enterprises 2025 list. NHU was honored to be included, in recognition of its forward-looking global strategy, robust and continuously innovative R&D system, and growing international influence.
